A 20 year restoration program began saving this car and returning it to its original former glory. The original engine number was 48527 which shows as the current engine number and chassis number 82007. The paintwork on the car today is that of its original colour scheme.
The vehicle was first registered the MBT2 (2 old log books showing ownership) and now retains 592JGK issues in 1974.
An old details this vehicle with MBT2, was owned by Mr Cameron. He wrote to Stratstone obtaining more information about this vehicle. In a letter from the Managing Director of Stratstone Limited in 1976 it was noted that this car had been used for a demonstration to “the most high ranking lady in the county” at the time, (believed to be the late Queen Elizabeth II). A letter from Stratstone is present in the history file.
The history file for the vehicle is very detailed and extensive, featuring multiple photos of restoration, various letters on discussions of the car, invoices for the work that has been carried out on the vehicle, 2 original log books and a Daimler Empress Saloon owner’s handbook.
